January 1 – Online registration opened

May 7 – Final deadline for registration for the 2026 season, you will not receive a jersey after Feb 28th, you will need to order and pay for it separate as explained in the registration link below
2026 Captain Registration
Captains you will need the following to start the registration process:
1. Your boat make/model, passenger capacity, motor make/size & MN Hull Identification #.
2. Make sure your boat is legally registered and licensed in the state of Minnesota.
3. Your boat insurance provider and policy. You must have boat owners liability insurance, including coverage for third party property damage and bodily injury.
4. Read through the MN DNR Boat Guide to assure you boat is legal, click here for link to the boat guide.
5. All captains must consent to background check within the registration process.
