Captains you will need the following to start the registration process:

1. Your boat make/model, passenger capacity, motor make/size & MN Hull Identification #.

2. Make sure your boat is legally registered and licensed in the state of Minnesota.

3. Your boat insurance provider and policy.  You must have boat owners liability insurance, including coverage for third party property damage and bodily injury.

4. Read through the MN DNR Boat Guide to assure you boat is legal, click here for link to the boat guide.

5. There is a background check within the registration process that you must submit for, this is through the SAO (Student Anglers Organization).  Details are given once you click on that link.  **ATTENTION, there is an issue with the third-party SAO background check at this time, please fill out all other items with our registration until it is working again**
